Emma Reed Turrell grew up near Portsmouth and went on to read English at Queens’ College, Cambridge. Following ten years working in business, she returned to her earlier passion for psychology and retrained as a psychotherapist.
Following the success of her debut book, Please Yourself: How to Stop People-Pleasing and Transform the Way You Live, Emma is currently writing her second book, What Am I Missing? How to See Things as They Really are and Live a More Authentic Life, which will be published by Penguin Life in March 2024, and she also presents the popular podcast Best Friend Therapy with Elizabeth Day.
When she’s not working, Emma can be found walking along the seafront in her home town of Southsea with her two golden retrievers, Willow and Betty.
