Emma Reed Turrell grew up near Portsmouth and went on to read English at Queens’ College, Cambridge. Following ten years working in business, she returned to her earlier passion for psychology and retrained as a psychotherapist.
Originally trained in Gestalt and Transactional Analysis, Emma has gone on to qualify in a range of therapeutic approaches, including CBT, EMDR, NLP and Hypnotherapy.
Emma is also a Clinical Supervisor and runs a busy therapy practice alongside training and consulting.
Following the success of her debut book, Please Yourself: How to Stop People-Pleasing and Transform the Way You Live, Emma is currently writing her second book, What Am I Missing? Uncover Your Blindspot and Discover a Happier You, which will be published by Penguin Life in March 2024, and she also presents the popular podcast Best Friend Therapy with Elizabeth Day.
When she’s not working, Emma can be found walking along the seafront in her home town of Southsea with her two golden retrievers, Willow and Betty.
