Emma Reed Turrell grew up near Portsmouth and went on to read English at Queens’ College, Cambridge. Following ten years working in business, she returned to her earlier passion for psychology and retrained as a psychotherapist.

Originally trained in Gestalt and Transactional Analysis, Emma has gone on to qualify in a range of therapeutic approaches, including CBT, EMDR, NLP and Hypnotherapy.

Emma is also a Clinical Supervisor and runs a busy therapy practice alongside training and consulting.

Following the success of her debut book, Please Yourself: How to Stop People-Pleasing and Transform the Way You Live, Emma has written a second book, What Am I Missing? Discover the Four Blind Spots That are Holding You Back and How to Overcome Them, and she also presents the popular podcast Best Friend Therapy with Elizabeth Day.

When she’s not working, Emma can be found walking along the seafront in her home town of Southsea with her two golden retrievers, Willow and Betty.
